Training Specialist

Under general supervision and as part of a team, is responsible for training, competency quality assessments, and professional development for two diverse programs with moderately complex systems: Patient Management: Responsible for designing, developing, validating, and delivering curricula pertaining to systems and support learning through in-house and distance learning for Medical Center, UPG, and School of Medicine staff using the systems that support management of processes, such as registration, scheduling, document management, ADT interface to Epic, and cash collection. Support process learning includes courses such as customer service and telephone etiquette. Responsible for assessing competency, ongoing use of learning tools, and methodologies. Revenue Cycle Department Training: Responsible for providing training support for all aspects of the revenue cycle work processes, including many of the supporting systems. Designing, developing, validating, and delivering curricula for end-user training, including a comprehensive custom Revenue Cycle Department onboarding program and ongoing revenue education competency and quality assessments to accomplish continuing revenue professional development for all Revenue Cycle Department Staff: UM, Admitting, PFS, Revenue Management, Patient Access, Pre-Arrival, and Analytics.
  • Develops and/ or assesses vendor training programs and tools used to manage and maintain materials and training exercises for employees using various financial and clinical systems and for continuous core Revenue Cycle learning and competency.
  • Conducts technical and professional development, classroom training sessions, and in-services group and individualized instruction.
  • Ongoing competency development and quality learning.
  • Resolves user problems with enterprise and departmental software and troubleshoots process and procedural issues.
  • Learning management system (LMS) administration.
  • Serves as project lead and may oversee temporary training personnel and provide ongoing customer support.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $27.84 - $44.54 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) by the NAHAM required within 18 months of hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
