Telemedicine Program Specialist

This position will be part of a strategic team in the UVA Health Telemedicine department. The role will participate in telemedicine program development of high-priority Telemedicine initiatives and new businesses. The person will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and support planning, data analysis, reporting, contracts, compliance and budget consideration. The role will be integral in Telemedicine's support of UVA Health strategic goals.


Strategy & Business Development:
  • Assist in the development of business and strategic plans in Telemedicine, including the development, updates and communications of long-range strategic plans and business case analyses.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to support strategy and initiatives.
  • Synthesize findings and develop recommendations to inform business strategy.
  • Prepare concise materials for presentation to Telemedicine leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and working sessions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with a moderate degree of complexity.

Program and Project Management:
  • Serve as the main point of contact or support program leads for assigned portfolio of work.
  • Support all phases of program management activities in collaboration with the designated team to develop scope, objectives, workflows, tip sheets and any additional documentation as needed.
  • Monitor progress against timelines, ensure deliverables are met on time and adjust schedules and targets, if needed.
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive communication plans across key audiences.
  • Ensure alignment of the program scope and goals with initial business plan and overall strategy.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

  • The ideal candidate has work experience in business planning, an understanding of healthcare, and medium to strong skills in analysis and PowerPoint-based communication.
  • Experience in project management exhibited by the ability to manage multiple project workstreams involving several functions in a matrix organization
  • Good conceptual problem-solving skills exhibited by the ability to approach ambiguous problems and formulate pathways towards a solution.
  • Good PowerPoint skills with the ability to create compelling documents with a clear storyline.
  • Good or growing quantitative and financial analysis skills.
  • Good communication skills to maintain positive long-term partner relationships in sometimes challenging situations, manage expectations and solve problems.
  • Moderate skills in executive-level communication and meeting facilitation.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, self-motivated to solve issues, and continually seek ways to improve.
  • High degree of flexibility exhibited in a "can do" attitude.

Position Compensation Range: $63,939.20 - $102,294.40 Annually

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in planning, project management, analysis or healthcare preferred. MPH, MPA, Masters, nursing and other degrees welcomed.
