UVA Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks a Senior Web Developer in Custom Applications and Consulting Services on our Drupal team. The Senior Web Developer will work closely with a team of Drupal developers supporting CACS customers across the University developing web-based solutions and supporting a portfolio of 100+ Drupal web sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Drupal Content Management System (CMS) development or similar (CMS). The ideal candidate will also have competence with JavaScript, PHP, CSS, and MySQL database administration or similar technologies. Other required and preferred qualifications may be found below.

  • Providing technical leadership for the CACS Drupal development team while providing development, maintenance, and support of the Drupal portfolio.
  • Developing recommendations on moderately complex problems.
  • Collaborating in establishing and meeting technical specifications and project estimates and schedules.
  • Identifying and solving problems, testing, and implementing applications, as well as providing ongoing technical evaluations.
  • Assisting with maintenance/support of technology infrastructure.
  • Interacting with customer stakeholders, including training of end users to manage their content.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in website development.
  • Ability to create, test, and deploy improvements to web applications based on customer stakeholder specifications.
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Drupal development or similar content management system (such as Wordpress).
  • Experience working with Git-based, collaborative code management.
  • Experience developing, theming, and maintaining Drupal or similar CMS based websites.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, especially regarding technical information.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, adhering to project schedules and project estimates.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS computer engineering, or related discipline is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, especially regarding technical information.
  • Experience with API solutions providing the sending and retrieving of data between various systems, such as core enterprise systems, financial applications, and data warehouse.

Anticipated hiring range: $65,000 - $90,000
