The Department of Neurology, in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia, is seeking a Senior Medical Office Coordinator to complement an existing administrative team to provide administrative and clinical support to faculty and their medical support teams. The ideal candidate will have the ability to attain the skill set needed to use current technology and computer applications to effectively and efficiently manage workflow and physician administrative needs.

This position provides excellent customer service to physicians, external customers and fellow team members in a fast-paced, academic office. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential, as is the ability to work within a team of administrative support professionals, ensuring follow-through on faculty initiatives in support of the clinical, research and educational missions of the department.

Minimum Requirements for Senior Medical Office Coordinator:
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: Five years of medical office experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
  • Licensure: None.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in academic medicine supporting faculty initiatives in all mission areas: clinical, education and research.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and performing other related job duties.
