6 East is a 30 bed acute care unit with a diverse patient population including orthopedics, ortho/trauma, urology and plastics. We have a Joint Commission certified Total Joint Program that is driven by multiple protocols and collaboration among the interdisciplinary team. We are also certified with the International Geriatric Fracture Society for our Hip Fracture patient population. All beds are capable of cardiac monitoring, end-tidal CO2 and pulse oximetry.
This position is for an entry-level professional nurse, focused primarily on developing knowledge and skills. Provides safe patient care at a basic level and shows growth in ability to care for increasingly complex patients. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a basic skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Requires consultation with more experienced clinicians and benefits from feedback.

Position Compensation Range: $27.00 - $44.36 Hourly
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: No experience required.
Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
