Our patients are in great need for an enthusiastic and compassionate nurse to assist the Plastic Surgery team in treatment of our patients with wounds and who need hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We have a wide diverse patient population who come from hundreds of miles away to seek treatment with our plastic surgeons, and we hope to recruit someone who is as passionate about their care as we are. You will work side by side with our surgeons, focusing on patient care and expanding knowledge and skills. We are a teaching hospital and we are dedicated to teaching our staff as well. We also work closely with other departments who refer patients to our team and are looking for someone who could prepare and conduct in-service educational programs for our referral base.

A strong candidate will be excited about providing effective direct care to our wound patients, working as part of an interdisciplinary team and helping to facilitate the best care possible for patients requiring wound care and hyperbaric treatment. We encourage the nurse we hire to assume a leadership position from the beginning but will provide mentoring and support as well. Advanced Practice Clinician Support

Position Compensation Range: $26.22 - $43.40 Hourly

Wound care experience and/or certification required.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $26.22 - $43.40 Hourly

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in hyperbaric and ambulatory clinic wound care.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

Medical Center will support the nurse to obtain their necessary General Hyperbaric and Safety Director certifications.

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
