UVA Critical Care Units serve patients experiencing acute and chronic illnesses from MI and trauma to cardio-thoracic surgery and organ transplantation. Nurses are involved in bedside nursing research and provide superior patient care and support for families. Bedside practice is based on nursing ideas, expertise, research and policies, with nurses working collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists and social workers to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Critical Care Nurses are encouraged to build their careers through education, presentation, publication and membership in professional organizations, including the Monticello Chapter of AACN.

Rotating and night shifts are available. (3, 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am).
This position qualifies for the UVA Medical Center Clinical Ladder. The salary range reflected in this job posting is for an RN Clinician 2.
Position Compensation Range: $26.22 - $43.40 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of hire.

1 year of relevant experience.

Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
