The Change Enablement & Continuous Improvement (CE/CI) function within UVAFinance seeks applicants for a project manager reporting to the Senior Director, Angela Knobloch. The project manager organizes small- and large-scale projects and processes across the CE/CI portfolio, including in the areas of change enablement; continuous improvement; training and development; communications and marketing; and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. Additionally, the incumbent supports initiatives that cross UVAFinance and the University as a whole.

CE/CI plays a key role in evaluating operational and stakeholder needs and then designing approaches, programs, and support mechanisms that enable positive change and continuous improvement both inside the UVAFinance organization and across the broader University Finance community.

This position requires both independent initiative and an ability to fully engage in team collaboration on administrative duties and overall process improvement activities. Goals are set in coordination with the supervisor. Candidate must possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment. This position is currently eligible for telework, but availability in Charlottesville is preferred.

  • Develop systems and processes necessary for the tracking, planning, and execution of projects within CE/CI.
  • Arrange, manage, and maintain cross-functional relationships in UVAFinance, as well as engage with stakeholders across the institution.
  • Advise the senior director and CE/CI team members on administrative problems. Compile reports setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Partner with UVAFinance Equity Action team on projects advancing the Inclusive Excellence Plan.
  • Support operations and strategic planning with analysis and recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Facilitate CE/CI processes by tracking progress to completion, coordinating deliverables from CE/CI and other team members, and providing clear communication of status to partners in and outside of UVAFinance.
  • Resolve problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of CE/CI. Represent department in meetings and serve on committees representing the interests of the department.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement by conducting research, networking with colleagues, and designing and delivering recommendations.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least three years of relevant experience is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience with supporting competing priorities in a high-visibility office.
  • Proven experience working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation and reporting skills are required.
  • Ability to build relationships and develop internal and external partnerships is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) is required.
  • Ability to interpret information and document summary findings for stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
  • Knowledge of change management frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies, especially in a higher education setting, is a plus.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with qualifications) with UVA benefits.
