UVA's Office of University Advancement seeks applications for a Project Associate to join their team. The Project Associate provides high-level support to a fundraising unit within the Parents Program team in University Advancement. They assist with and lead certain aspects of the Parents Program, including, but not limited to, our grants and scholarship processes and events. The Project Associate also creates and maintains systems to address the administrative needs of the Parents Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and administer the grants and scholarship processes.
  • Manage donor and constituent relations, including direct interaction with board members, volunteers and partners across grounds.
  • Oversee the planning process and coordinate the logistics for internal and external events.
  • Implement the yearly stewardship plan for donors, including production and distribution of donor acknowledgment materials.
  • Provide database management support, including running canned reports, generating mail lists, updating activities, maintaining and updating donor/prospect information, and creating and tracking events.
  • Prepare the director and development officers for internal and external meetings by developing reports, interpreting data and gathering or creating presentation materials when asked.
  • Serve as a liaison to students, donors and volunteers.
  • Provide general office support as needed.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience. Two years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students, volunteers or donors.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Experience with CRM databases and other marketing and event software, such as Advance, Marketing cloud, Eventbrite, etc.
