Procurement Business Analyst

Duties will include:
  • Providing support and contributing subject matter expertise in the maintenance and enhancement of the University's procurement software (JAGGAER eProcurement, JAGGAER TCM, JAGGAER Sourcing, Workday, PaymentWorks). Contributing to timely completion of deliverables required by the established implementation plans, participating in University design workshops, and supporting the development of business process and role design documents. Developing impact assessments and assisting in the identification of gaps. Completing hands-on functional and technical project activities related to procurement. Troubleshooting system errors through coordination with IT Department and software providers.
  • Collecting operational data related to Procurement activities and preparing statistical analyses, graphics and presentations to demonstrate the effect of proposed changes or improvements to business processes and policies. Continuously engaging with stakeholders to see how they are interacting with our current system, ask why and document business needs for future system design.
  • Demonstration of key product features; documenting requirements and design; and assisting with knowledge, transfer and training to targeted end users. Participating alongside a diverse set of University colleagues in user acceptance testing. Bringing a customer service orientation and willingness to challenge and improve processes. Consulting and partnering with Procurement leadership, central Finance staff, Associate Deans and other staff throughout the University to identify and implement best practices.
  • Delivering business process maps and documentation, analyzing current state processes and assisting in translating to future state processes, and assisting in gathering requirements from process owners.
  • Possessing excellent communications skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal and proofreading. Being able to accomplish projects with little supervision and having a high customer service ethic and expectation for quality. Portraying a professional manner as a representative of UVA. Being a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential information. Possessing ability to promote the adoption of new tools and improved business processes. Having a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel, Visio and Microsoft Teams

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, computer engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Licensure: None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
