Oversees the staff and operations of the pharmacy supply chain and 340B program. Ensures appropriate purchasing, inventory management, supply chain operations and regulatory compliance for procurement of pharmaceuticals and 340B program requirements.

Responsible for pharmacy supply chain across the pharmacy department. Works collaboratively across teams and departments to support and maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies, supply chain regulatory compliance and supply chain integrity. Provides oversight to the Pharmacy Requisition operation by working with clinics, research labs and grants for drug purchasing and distribution of medications. Oversees pharmaceutical expense budget and provides oversight to appropriate purchasing and inventory management.

Ensures 340B program compliance and oversight through routine audits and optimization. The UVA 340B program consists of a DSH entity with multiple ship-to pharmacies and child sites, 7 entity-owned retail locations and multiple contract pharmacy partnerships. Position is responsible for evaluating and executing program operations, eligibility and compliance.

Additional responsibilities will be assigned as identified. Manager will lead problem solving and ongoing process improvement efforts across the pharmacy supply chain operation and throughout the department.

Position Compensation Range: $120,952.00 - $181,438.40 Annual

  • Education: Pharmacy degree (BS and/or PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy required.
  • Experience: 3 years of general practice experience required. 1 year of management experience preferred. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. A candidate subject to waiver of state licensure requirements due to state declarations of emergency must currently maintain a valid, unrestricted license in another state, and after any disaster-related administrative delays cease, must immediately successfully test and qualify for Virginia licensure.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
