Opportunity for a Pediatrician: Harrisonburg, Virginia

The UVA Physicians Group is currently recruiting for a full-time pediatrician to join an established practice in Harrisonburg, Virginia. You will have the opportunity to join a group of 6 providers and be associated with the University of Virginia Health System Physicians Group.

The University of Virginia Physicians Group (UPG) is the physician group practice of UVA, which provides financial, clinical and administrative services for clinicians, allowing UVA physicians and advanced practice providers to focus on delivering high-quality patient care within UVA Health System and affiliated regional primary and specialty care practices.

UPG boasts 1200+ providers who serve patients at the main UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville and in the 24 primary and specialty care locations throughout Charlottesville and Central and Northern Virginia. UPG clinic locations include Culpeper, Richmond, the Shenandoah Valley, Louisa, Winchester and Haymarket (Prince William County) and Harrisonburg. Additional future openings are planned throughout Virginia.

Through partnership with UVA School of Medicine, UPG physicians may have the opportunity for faculty appointments with sponsoring departments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Graduate of accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion of accredited residency in chosen specialty,
  • Experience: None.
  • Licensure: Board certification in specialty (if newly graduated from residency, must be obtained within 2 years of graduation) must be kept current. Unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Current DEA certificate without restriction.
  • Skills: Experience utilizing a personal computer and computerized scheduling.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive and repetitive). Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
