Parking Business Tools Manager

The University of Virginia's Department of Parking and Transportation is seeking a Parking Business Tools Manager. The Parking Business Tools Manager is responsible for configuration and effective use of parking business tools, including overall access and revenue control software and hardware, technology-based transient parking tools, and license plate recognition software and hardware. The Manager will design data processing, analysis, and visualization practices to track and project parking demand and business practices and tools to match inventory to demand. The incumbent will also manage technical and customer service aspects of payroll deduction, as well as annual and transit billing (department spaces, citations, after-the-fact payments). A team of three data analysts report to this manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high-quality data is collected for analysis and continually verify integrity of the data.
  • Identify errors and determine the best course of action to correct and prevent errors going forward.
  • Perform analysis of information and identify, interpret, and report the trends and patterns found in data sets. Develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Synthesize data analysis by creating graphs, reports, and presentations of results in order to make strategic and programmatic decisions.
  • Develop content for seminars, forums, and presentations.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to be a collaborative team player and contribute creative ideas in a team setting.
  • Discretion, good judgment, personal motivation, and the ability to work independently and as a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional work experience in a university environment.
  • Data processing/analysis and parking technology skills.

Compensation:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:

Physical Demands:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
