The University of Virginia Bookstore, Cavalier Computer division is seeking a PC Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance tasks and troubleshoot and repair computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. The incumbent troubleshoots and resolves end-user problems and ensures correct operation of personal computers. They address complex problems and will use experience and judgment in selecting among authorized procedures, seeking assistance when significant deviations are proposed, or when unprecedented problems arise. They assist senior staff in developing approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues. They may train or provide guidance to less experienced staff members. Their interactions are with fellow team members and coordinating team members, assigned student, faculty or staff clients and external vendors or service providers. Incumbent possesses strong customer service skills and organizational skills.
