The Department of Dentistry at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine invites applications for a part-time Oral Surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor to assist with our patient load.

Candidates must possess a broad spectrum of clinical abilities and hospital experience with oral surgery patients. In terms of hospital experience, this can be by means of a previous residency or current employment. The incumbent would have clinical care responsibilities in terms of direct care of endodontist patients and our residency program. Supervision of residents of their provision of care.

As a department faculty member, the individual would participate in monthly faculty meetings, curriculum planning meetings, resident evaluation sessions, etc.

Candidates must have DDS from an ADA-accredited school of dentistry and a Virginia Board of Dentistry license or be eligible for such via reciprocation from another board exam.

Our full-time staff consists of general dentists. We have part-time specialists that we rely on within the department and at local private practices for assistance with complicated situations requiring the expertise of such. We are located at 1222 Jefferson Park Medical Building, and our office hours are 8am-5pm.


COVID Vaccination Requirement

Due to the scope of President Biden's Executive Order 14042 issued in early September, all University employees, including remote employees, must receive their final vaccination dose by January 4, 2022, unless they have a University-approved religious or medical exemption. The University has updated policy SEC-045 to reflect these new requirements.

 

If hired by the Academic Division, excluding School of Medicine, School of Nursing, UVA Physicians Group, and the Health Systems Library, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination or be willing to be vaccinated by January 4, 2022. Academic employees may apply for a University-approved medical or religious exemption.
