As a licensed optometrist, this individual is responsible for providing high-quality optometric services for our patient population.
  • Provides high-quality optometric care to patients.
  • Proctors optometry externs.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as requested by the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Graduate degree in optometry.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Licensure: Current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Skills: Experience utilizing a personal computer and computerized scheduling.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive and repetitive). Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
