Ophthalmology Sr. Tech

This is a patient- and team member-focused role that is responsible and accountable for various aspects of clinic operations, specifically focused on in-basket pool management, managing protocol workflows for prescription refills and orders, pre-visit planning worksheets, patient consent, care coordination and functioning as liaison between clinic operations and access. Performs technical, administrative and clinical functions related to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Performs visual field testing.
  • Performs ocular motility testing.Performs patient work-ups.
  • Performs additional patient work-ups. Administers ophthalmic drops and ointments.
  • Provides patient services. Maintains ophthalmic exam lanes clinic area and equipment.
  • Continues professional growth.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $16.97 - $26.30 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year relevant experience
  • Licensure: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification by The Joint Commission of Accredited Health Professionals in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling (distance: 50 feet) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50–100 lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
