This is a patient and team member-focused role that is responsible and accountable for various aspects of clinic operations and provides first-line support and direction over the staff in a defined work area. Performs technical, administrative and clinical functions related to that work area.
  • Provides day-to-day support and charge of assigned staff.
  • Maintains a positive and professional work environment.
  • Maintains inventory and manages use of supplies and resources, as well as assesses opportunities for good stewardship and cost-effectiveness.
  • Investigates, documents and resolves problems and complaints in collaboration with manager.
  • Performs technical/clinical/administrative responsibilities in assigned work area. Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others. Ability to utilize train the trainer approaches with team members. Coordinates with staff, physicians and manager on daily clinic flow processes. Relationships with staff in other work areas are fostered to meet internal and external customer needs. Assists manager with contribution in team member performance review process. Assists manager in the hiring process with participation in the peer interview process.
  • Assists in completion of staff daily schedules and coordinates with physicians on ad hoc scheduling needs.
  • Assists in tracking staff PTO and approval process in coordination with staff scheduling, and assists manager with Kronos oversight.
  • Organizes the use and maintenance of the visual management system/huddle.
  • Coordinates with vendors and equipment delivery and installations.
  • Maintains competence in use of scheduling and web applications.
  • Demonstrates engagement in the work, team and goals of the unit.
  • Actions are supportive and meet or exceed patient/family/co-worker expectations by implementing the UTeam concept.
  • Accepts personal responsibility for role in patient satisfaction outcomes and demonstrates behaviors that promote improvement.
  • Willingly takes on or assists with other tasks as needed or requested, completing them in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Change is met with positive, supportive behavior.
  • Collaborates with appropriate help chain (e.g., supervisor/manager/physician/PAU) to ensure clinic needs are met.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service both for in-person and telephone activities.
  • Demonstrates ownership of own role in the customer experience and describes the impact their performance has on the overall patient satisfaction.
  • Prioritizes tasks to meet customer needs.
  • Updates and engages patients/family if there are delays with the patient's experience as per department standards.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $20.28 - $31.43 Hourly

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: May require a valid Virginia driver's license.

Job may require sitting, standing and traveling for prolonged periods. Repetitive motion: computer keyboard activity. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull <20 lbs.
