The Manager, Digital and Web Solutions is responsible for driving the strategy and implementation of the UVA Health School of Medicine's online presence(s) in support of the School of Medicine's mission and goals. This role requires a leader who can translate business goals into tactics and team efforts that achieve defined metrics. The Manager must also work in a hands-on capacity to develop team skills, implement systems, and troubleshoot issues.

A large portion of the Manager's role will be to drive projects that introduce or improve digital systems, technologies, and performance. The role requires the ability to learn and implement simultaneously, as well as manage a team that is distributed across work areas, some they directly supervise, others that are peers where they work in partnership.

Responsibilities in support of the School of Medicine and its leadership goals and vision:

Web Oversight:
  • In conjunction with other leaders, develop medium to long-term plans to support the needs of our core audiences, as well as the leadership vision.
  • Develop, enhance, and manage the web site(s) and the related CMS, analytics tools, and web services.
  • Manage external and internal web development resources.
  • Collaborate across other digital functions and team members that produce and support video, graphics, brand elements, analytics, and content.
  • Manage the workflow across the team and align the priorities and projects to department and leadership goals.
  • Use proven understanding of UX, IA, graphic, video, social networking, and other technology skills to produce and maintain dynamic content for all sites and audiences.
  • Produce and/or work with other marketing groups to produce service-specific content with the goal of engaging and informing key audiences.
  • Keep current and continuously seek out new technologies and applications that help achieve business goals.
  • Evaluate, improve, and actively manage the project/priority governance model (users, administrative access, prioritization processes).

Digital Marketing and Analytics Responsibilities:
  • Work in tandem with others in marketing to create integrated campaigns involving both online and offline components.
  • Responsible for meeting key performance indicators and measuring the effectiveness of campaigns and site performance.
  • Responsible for email marketing initiatives, including coordinating with other key contributors, email platform, and list governance.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for digital and web budget and related accounting.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver a consistent, high-quality visual style across all properties, campaigns, and efforts.
  • Recruit, manage, and professionally develop a high-performing team.
  • Stay current on new technologies and recommend and plan for content enhancements to the system.
  • Communicate clearly to express thoughts and ideas.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $73,444.80 - $117,520.00 Annually

  • Education: Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in the digital space and 3 years of management experience are required.
  • Licensure: None.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
