Lead Biomedical Specialist

Responsible for the provision and coordination of comprehensive medical equipment-related services in focus administrative area, including technical support, training, procedural assistance, vendor interface, repair and preventive maintenance on complex medical equipment and systems under minimal supervision.
  • Perform as first-line, full-service expert in focus administrative area including, but not limited to, dialysis and renal therapy.
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
  • Maintain UVA medical equipment inventory system.
  • Coordinate and/or perform installation and initial inspections on medical equipment.
  • Comply with all safety rules, codes, practices and policies.
  • Mentor and train technical staff.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $28.96 - $46.34 Hourly

  • Education: High school or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Valid Virginia driver's license required.

Job requires standing and traveling for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull <20 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
