The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging is seeking an Intermediate Lab Specialist to participate as a key team member within the Research Division. The incumbent supports the research activities of a neurotrauma-focused laboratory and provides daily oversight to include experimental management, expenditure management, Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance management and coordination of laboratory meetings. In addition, the incumbent performs animal experiments and surgical procedures, provides animal care and handling, and collects data and samples. Other responsibilities of the incumbent include performing laboratory maintenance, providing experimentation documentation, and ordering laboratory supplies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or related science

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
