The salary range for a Histology Technician is $22.39 - $35.82

Responsible for performing histological procedures to aid in diagnosis, research and instruction.
  • Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
  • Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance programs.
  • Investigates, documents, communicates and resolves needs, problems or complaints.
  • Performs area-specific support/clinical activities.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
The salary range shown below reflects that of a Histotechnologist.
Position Compensation Range: $25.21 - $40.34 Hourly


  • Clinical education in a Histology Technician School (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or 1 year experience.


  • 1 year experience in a Histology Laboratory.


  • HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) or eligible.
  • Certification within 18 months of hire.



Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping; Repetitive motion: (embedding, microtomy, cover slipping). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The salary range reflected in this job posting is for a Histology Technician. Additional compensation is available if you are hired in as a Histotechnologist. The level eligibility will be discussed during the recruitment process.
