The Document Imaging department at UVA Medical Center seeks a Health Information System Analyst (HIS Analyst) to perform quality assurance audits on vendor-imaged documents and to ensure that information is indexed under the correct patient under the prescribed indexing scheme and image quality meets departmental/vendor agreed-upon standards. HIS Analysts convert documents to text images and import images into current scanning application; review records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations; and enter deficiencies into chart tracking computer system.

Duties Include:
  • Analyzing each patient record.
  • Communicating with customers.
  • Performing area-specific support/technical activities.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

  • Education: High school graduate or Equivalent. Must successfully pass AHIMA-approved medical terminology CBL course within 12 months of hire date.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Licensure: None required.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings and programs.

Position Compensation Range: $13.00 - $19.59 Hourly
