Financial Services Coordinator - UVA Cancer Center - Pantops Oncology

Provides comprehensive financial counseling services and guidance related to complicated medical diagnoses, procedures and pharmaceuticals to Medical Center patients from on-site locations, i.e., Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center. Coordinates financial issues with clinical process by interacting with staff, such as Social Work, Nursing, Physicians, Pharmacy and Management.

  • Provides face-to-face financial counseling for patients, notably uninsured/underinsured patients.
  • Facilitates patient connection with all other resources that may be available.
  • Performs analysis of billing process to determine what if any amount is patient's responsibility.
  • Provides optimum customer service.
  • Performs follow-up work on uninsured/underinsured patients scheduled for surgeries in order to resolve their financial responsibility prior to services being rendered.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $18.01 - $27.92 Hourly

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: None.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings and programs.
