EEG Technician - Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Responsible for performing patient assessment, preparation and monitoring for electrodiagnostic surgical procedures following established clinical guidelines. Operates, maintains and troubleshoots associated medical devices/equipment. Functions in the EEG Lab EMG Lab Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and various ICU settings (NNICU and PICU).

Shift Needed (may change based on need): 4 10-hour shifts, 1:30 p.m. to 12 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • Ascertains patient procedural specifications.
  • Prepares patient.
  • Performs baseline studies and monitors patient status.
  • Prepares, monitors and troubleshoots procedure equipment.
  • Communicates with healthcare team members.
  • Maintains proper inventories and correctly uses supplies and reagents.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $21.52 - $33.36 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school or equivalent required. Bachelors of Science degree is preferred.
Experience: 2 years of experience in patient environment, preferably with a pediatric population.
Licensure:
  • Registered as an Electrodiagnostic Technician by the American Board of Registered Electrodiagnostic Technicians (ABRET) within 4 years of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
