The Director, Digital Solutions is responsible for setting the strategy and driving the development of UVA Health's overall digital marketing strategy. Specifically, this role oversees and manages UVA Health web strategy (UVA Health, UVA School of Medicine, and various campaign microsites), social media, CRM/PRM marketing technology, and related analytics/performance measurement in support of the mission and goals of UVA Health. This role requires a senior leader who can translate business goals into strategies and tactics that achieve defined metrics. The Director must also work in a hands-on capacity to develop team skills, implement systems, and troubleshoot issues. The Director role reports to the Associate Chief, Digital Marketing and Engagement Strategy.

The Director manages four teams within the defined portfolio: Web Strategy (multiple websites and blogs, reputation management), Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Marketing Technology/Marketing Automation. In addition, in partnership with the Associate Chief, this position will play a key role in developing and designing UVA Health's web/digital marketing analytics strategy. A large portion of the Director's role will be to drive projects, both internal to marketing and external across the Health System, that introduce or improve digital systems, technologies, and performance. This position will play a key role in the execution of UVA Health's "digital front door" strategy as the Health System continues to devise unique and innovative ways to connect patients with superior care.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, enhance, and manage uvahealth.com and the related CMS, analytics tools, and web services.
  • Manage the UVA School of Medicine website, working with key leader at the School of Medicine.
  • Coordinate with marketing, content, social, and CRM teams on all web and campaign content needs.
  • Develop, enhance, and manage UVA Health's blogs.
  • Manage external and internal web development resources.
  • Manages the workflow across the team and align the priorities and projects to the department and health system goals.
  • Use proven understanding of UX, IA, graphic, video, social networking, and other technology skills to support and maintain dynamic content for all sites and audiences.
  • Keep current and continuously seek out new technologies and applications that help UVA Health achieve its goals.
  • Implement and manage digital online marketing campaigns across all programs and services.
  • In partnership with the marketing team, develop, enhance, and manage campaign microsites and campaign pages.
  • Oversee social media strategy across multiple brands, sub-brands and platforms. Grow audience and engagement.
  • Partner with key leaders to build out digital reputation management strategy, inclusive of own and third-party provider rankings and reviews.
  • Work in tandem with others in marketing and service lines to develop campaign content and assets.
  • Drive the successful launch of the new CRM and PRM platforms. Drive the goals of all marketing automation/patient and referring physician engagement efforts.
  • Partner with key leaders in the department to design a holistic digital analytics strategy, monitoring key performance indicators and measuring the effectiveness of all web/digital efforts.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for digital and web budget and related accounting.
  • Works collaboratively to deliver a consistent, high-quality visual style across all properties, campaigns, and efforts.
  • Recruits, manages, and professionally develops a high-performing team of digital marketers.
  • Stays current on new technologies and recommends and plans for content enhancements to the system.
  • Communicates clearly to express thoughts and ideas.
  • Manages multiple projects effectively.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $122,886.40 - $196,622.40 Annually

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the digital space and 5 years of management experience are required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Healthcare and digital/marketing agency experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed environment highly desirable.
  • Detail-level knowledge of digital technologies, platforms, and related network and media concepts.
  • Significant experience managing large platforms, applications, and providers.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, editorial, and communications skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects dealing with multiple constituencies.
  • The ability to learn and develop new, relevant technology skills when required.

Physical Demands:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
