Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic technical procedures under the direction of a surgeon to provide imaging guidance utilizing multiple modalities, including standard X-ray imaging, mobile fluoroscopy, and mobile computed tomography (CT) O-arm and Siemens CIOS SPIN in a sterile environment. Must provide knowledge and be able to operate the C-arm for orthopedic trauma cases and complex scoliosis spine cases, along with general cases. Must perform as a technical specialist providing high level of imaging knowledge to the surgical environment and supports new technology as it interfaces with imaging platforms. Operation of ARTIS Pheno hybrid IR and vascular imaging rooms. Able to produce and modify quality postoperative imaging and be able to identify appropriate anatomy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance of multidisciplinary surgical imaging, to include:
  • Standard X-ray imaging, including OR miscounts, surgical site verification, Radlink navigation and postoperative imaging as ordered.
  • Responsible for the operation and manipulation of mobile fluoroscopic imaging (C-arm imaging) to support placement and verification of surgical implants, scoliosis spinal surgery, deep brain stimulator placement, cystography, transsphenoidal hypophysectomy, Brainlab Stealth-supported surgery, 3D C-arm spins and reconstructions, Super Dimension Fluoroscopic Navigation, ION robotic pulmonary imaging, and Mazor X - Robotic Imaging Assistance to aid surgical approach. Radlink imaging for intraop confirmation. IR and vascular imaging with subtraction and roadmapping.
  • Operation of the mobile computed tomography unit (O-arm and CIOS Spin) in the operating room, providing surgical guidance and verification of hardware placement.
  • Operating imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Ensuring proper safety standards are met.
  • Instructing students and performing preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Performing quality checks on equipment.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Medical Center information systems.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of imaging techniques, protocols, and billing.
  • Learning new techniques and technology through educational reading and attendance at seminars or lectures.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Position Compensation Range: $30.74 - $49.18 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiography required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, fumes, cold, heat, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
