The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of operations related to the clinical support staff, to include CPG freestanding clinics and provider-based clinics, on behalf of the University of Virginia Physicians Group (UPG). The incumbent is responsible for training, evaluating, directing, supervising, and coordinating activities for clinical staff to ensure provision of quality and cost-effective care. Assists with leading the network development through strategic utilization of various delivery models and evaluation and implementation of new and expanded service lines of the clinical enterprise. Responsible for management of network initiatives, to include meeting of quality metrics, superior customer experience, and supporting population health management. Incumbent will work closely with the CPG Management Team and medical director(s), UVA Health System, and other applicable units of UVA and UPG.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personnel-related Responsibilities

Responsible for recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and oversight of staff, to include the CPG charge nurses, lead medical rechnologist, clinical float staff, and other staff as assigned.

General supervision of staff, to include performance management, timesheet approval, and employee requests and complaints. Responsible for evaluating and resolving employee issues and other work-related issues.

Assisting with developing staffing models to support clinical network (Care Team, Team Care, Clinical Support, etc.)

Establishing high-functioning relationships with the CPG team that fosters support of the organization's mission, vision, financial, and strategic plan.

Serving as the liaison to managers for escalated issues related to clinical protocol and procedures.

Scheduling and conducting regular staff meetings to keep staff apprised of activities and decisions.
-
Assisting with staff training and development to ensure effective performance and promote engagement. Responsible for staff engagement through assessment and action plan implementation to promote highly engaged teams. Creating and updating primary and specialty care clinical training manuals.

Coordinating WorkMed requirements across the network, to include onboarding, vaccination, and testing.
Managing Ongoing Compliance Issues through Communication, Training, and Monitoring Policies

Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies that govern healthcare delivery and accreditation and ensuring clinic standards of quality patient care. Monitoring operations, programs, policies, and physical properties to ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, CLIA, COLA, JCAHO, HIPAA, etc.).

Ensuring qualitative compliance with regulations within clinic scope of work.
Revenue Cycle: Revenue, Accounts Receivable

Oversight of clinical staff charge entry and assisting with work queue resolution.

Responding to billing and coding requests for additional information.

Support of physicians and NPs to maximize patient throughput.
Budget/Cost Containment/Financial Management

Participating in preparation of yearly budget.

Monitoring budget variance reports and acting to eliminate or reduce variances.

Assisting with supply ordering, setting and maintenance of par levels, inventory control, and cost containment.

Processing vendor invoices for Accounts Payable process and processing check requests.
Operational Responsibilities
-
Participating in strategic short-range and long-range plans to support the network objectives.

Oversight of clinical staff to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Supporting practice operations with a focus on Lean principles and implementation of best practices.

Implementing and monitoring continuous quality improvement processes to establish standard work across the clinical enterprise.

Functioning as an Epic SuperUser and subject matter expert. Providing direct support through education and training to clinical staff.

Research of new clinical services to determine impact to operations as related to cost, implementation, training.

Responsible for management of the CPG clinic laboratories, including quality control; policies and procedures; proficiency testing; processing, testing, reporting of lab results; and evaluation of new or modified techniques, equipment, and software.

Providing oversight of vaccine ordering, inventory tracking, and management of state-funded vaccine program. Managing vaccine contracts, to include cost containment, vaccine purchasing options, and determination of product and manufacturer selection. Ensuring EMR build accurately reflects vaccine details, to include NDC, dosage, and manufacturer.

Providing nursing coverage within CPG practices during staff shortage.

Responding to patient requests and complaints. Evaluating for root cause and/or need for standard work.

Oversight of incident report management tracking to determine trends and opportunities to address areas of concern.

Responsible for establishing and updating CPG policies and procedures. Ensuring network compliance

Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and reporting on CPG clinical goals and quality metrics.

Participating in corporate goals.

Coordinating emergency preparedness and planning.
-
Liaison between office and institutional resources.
-
Attending meetings as required.
-
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Education: Licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. BLS Trainer certification preferred or obtains within six months of employment.

Experience: Three to five years of clinical office experience. Primary and specialty care clinic experience preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer. Electronic medical record knowledge and experience preferred. Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocols.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will/may have non-exempt and exempt clinical positions reporting to it.

General busy medical office environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
