Ambulatory Care | Full time |
Responsible for providing patient care health teaching and a safe environment to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in the patient’s home as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
  • Assists the RN/physician through data collection of patient’s data.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities.
  • Implements interventions based on individual patient’s needs as directed by the RN/physician.                               
  • Maintains efficient patient flow throughout the clinic experience.               
  • Assists in developing and implementing patient/family teaching plan.
  • Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.               
  • Maintains supplies and equipment.                           
  • Performs administrative support responsibilities.                 
  • Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care.   
Position compensation range: $14.48 - $22.44 Hourly    

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education:
    • A technical diploma or certificate in Medical Assisting required.
    • Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited Program of Study
      • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or
      • the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Licensure: One of the following four credentials –
    • Certified Medical Assistant by the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
    • Registered Medical Assistant by the AMT (American Medical Technologists), Certified
    • Clinical Medical Assistant by the NHA (National Health Career Association)
    • Certified Medical Assistant by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
    • Credential must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping.  Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
