Cast Technician

Provides orthopedic patient care services specifically related to casting under the direction of a physician. Supplies and equipment are assembled as appropriate.
  • Supports the physician during casting procedures.
  • Supports the physician with reduction of dislocations and fractures.
  • Maintains necessary skills and competencies to support department.
  • Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $14.48 - $22.44 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience required.
  • Licensure: Pass the certification test for Orthopedic Cast Tech within two years of employment as Cast Technician with the Medical Center. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires repetitive motion: traveling, standing, reaching, bending and stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull >100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, vibrations, blood/body fluids, infectious disease, noise and dust.
