Billing & Collections Quality Specialist

The Billing and Collections Training Specialist designs, schedules and delivers training on the effective use of the technical systems used by the Billing and Collections staff, and supports users on technical and administrative issues. The individual is also responsible for monitoring the performance of trainees and providing performance feedback to the Billing and Collections management team.
  • Performs training course planning and development, including objectives, written training documentation and course evaluation.
  • Conducts training classes on a routine basis as determined by system user needs.
  • Schedules and records training participation in the UltiPro system.
  • Works with billing system staff to identify, report and solve system problems and disseminate information to users, including Billing staff meetings.
  • Partners with Billing and Collections supervisors and leads in training, orientation and work assessment for all Billing and Collections staff.
  • Provides helpdesk and administrative services for the physician billing system.
  • Performs routine audits in Epic and provide results to B&C supervisors.
  • Partners with B&C Operations Analyst and/or Projects Administrator on assignments.
  • Partners with B&C unit coordinators with policies/procedures in policy manager (training, entry, review for accuracy with training information).
  • Partners with IT Group on system tests and development and creating/updating training documents as needed.
  • Assists B&C staff with printer/mailbox set-up.
  • Assists/trains B&C staff on phone system set-up.
  • Assists B&C units and staff by acting as web site administrator for third parties (add, remove and train staff as needed).
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in a medical billing operation. One year of experience delivering classroom training for adults (technical training preferred).
  • Licensure: None.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of and experience utilizing MS Office applications. Average competency in web-based database. Excellent relational skills, including advanced abilities in both verbal and written communication.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
